3D animation
We created a 3D animation presenting Aicon Photon Counting Technology - the technology behind X-ray scanners for food inspection. The film was made for a trade show, where you need to explain how this technology differs from other solutions.
The animation also can't move too fast, so a potential customer at the trade show has time to take in the content.
Project outline
The film had to present the technology in a way that both a technologist and a plant director, stopping at the booth for a few seconds, would understand.

The food industry is pragmatic and conservative, so the animation had to be modern, but concrete. Instead of slogans about revolution, the client wanted to show how it works and what it means for quality control.
Stylistics and Concept
We start with the machine in a dark, cool studio, the way a client sees it on the production line. Then we move to a blue, transparent view of the machine and show how a food tray is X-rayed, how the photons behave, and clearly highlight the detected contaminant.

The viewer instantly sees what the scanner does and what happens inside the machine - this is where animation wins, because it shows what simply can't be seen from the outside.
The end result
The result is a 3D animation that explains a complex technology in one coherent film and shows the advantage of PCT without long descriptions, so it works at a trade show booth, where the conversation starts with an image.

This gives AICON material that introduces the conversation about the technology well and can be used in various settings, not only at trade shows, and we got to show that even what is invisible to the naked eye can be told in a simple and attractive way through animation.
